FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method of acceleration of germination of potato tubers comprises biologically active influence on the tubers. The said influence is carried out by treating the potato tubers with an aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide. Biologically active influence on potato tubers is carried out directly after harvesting. The potato tubers are first treated with an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide in a concentration of 1·10-4-1·10-3 M (3.4·10-3-3.4·10-2 g/l), and dried. After drying the tubers are treated with 5-10% aqueous solution of oxidised starch-containing product obtained by oxidation of waste of corn production in the potassium alkaline solution in the presence of the catalyst having pH of 7.0-7.5.
EFFECT: invention enables to interrupt the period of natural dormancy of potato tubers and to accelerate significantly their germination, which creates the possibility of multiple harvests per year.
