FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly dentistry, and is applicable in implant denture or artificial tooth fixation. A self-tapping screw implant consists of a rod; a distal end of its distal section comprises a prosthetic head for placing artificial teeth or dental bridges, partial or complete dentures or fasteners; its proximal section is threaded with at least one 180° half-turn, particularly 360° half-turn, for screwing into a bone substance. A thread outer diameter (dg) to rod outer diameter (ds) ratio makes from 1.5 to 5. The thread on the rod is formed by an upper thread and a self-tapping lower thread. The lower thread with coils tapers downwards so that the outer diameter (dg) of the lower thread decreases from a maximum outer diameter dg (max) to a minimum outer diameter dg(min) towards the tip.

EFFECT: invention enables carrying high mechanical loads so that the self-tapping screw implant can be implanted with minimum invasions and minimum possible involvement of the oral mucosa, gums and bone tissue, herewith providing high-strength fixation in the jaw bone.
