FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce luminescent light sources, luminescent panels, screens, displays and optical quantum generators. Vanadium (V) oxide is dissolved in 10% NaOH solution. A stoichiometric amount of a precursor solution - Y(NO3)3·6H2O is added to the obtained solution, followed by a second precursor - Eu(NO3)3·6H2O, in concentration of 1-8 at%, followed by exposure to microwave radiation with power of 700 W for 10 min. The mixture is cooled to room temperature. The precipitate is separated, dried and annealed at 800°C for 2 hours.
EFFECT: yttrium orthovanadate-based phosphor has luminescence intensity of up to 34000 arbitrary units.
