FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: four acoustic transducers arranged at one polar diagonal in horizontal plane, in first, second, third and fourth square vertices. Besides, it includes the chain of n acoustic reflectors arranged in series at holder on pin, perpendicular to square plate and extending through the square centre. Acoustic transducers are directed to said chain of reflectors so that all reflectors stay in the area of polar diagram of every acoustic transducers. Reflected opposite pulse acoustic signals are transmitted and received in alternating manner by pairs of acoustic transducers located in one square diagonal. Time of receipt of the trains of signals reflected from the chain of reflectors is registered to define the orthogonal components of horizontal flow velocity vector and sound velocity in aces xny in the ply between (i-1) and i reflectors by formula
where τ1(i-1), τ1i are time arrival times of signal emitted by 1-st transducer. Signal reflected by (i-1) and i reflectors and received by 2-nd transducer; τ2(i-1), τ2i are time arrival times for 2-nd transducer, reflected by (i-l) and i reflectors and received by 1-st transducer. Note that τ3(i-1), τ3i are arrival times of signal emitted by 3-rd transducer reflected by (i-1) and i reflectors and received by 4-th transducer. Note that τ4(i-1), τ4i are arrival times of signal emitted by 4-th transducer reflected by (i-1) and i reflectors and received by 3-rd transducer. Note that αi-1, α1 are angles between horizontal and direction to (i-1) and i reflectors from every transducers; l0 -is distance in axis x between 1-st and 2-nd transducers and in axis y between 3-rd and 4-th transducers;
EFFECT: simultaneous measurement, higher accuracy.
