MULTIPLE-CHAMBER INSULATOR-DISCHARGER AND METHOD OF ITS MANUFACTURE Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC H01B17/14 H01T4/16 H02G13/00

Abstract RU 2548169 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: insulator-discharger includes an insulation body and reinforcement in the form of the first and the second reinforcement elements installed on its ends. The first reinforcement element has a possibility of being connected either indirectly or by means of a fastener to a high-voltage wire or to the second reinforcement element of the preceding high-voltage insulator of a column or a string. The second reinforcement element has a possibility of being connected to an electric installation or a supporting power transmission line or to the first reinforcement element of the next high-voltage insulator of the column or the string. Besides, the insulator-discharger includes three or more discharge chambers installed in the insulation body and in-series connected into a chain. Discharge chambers consist of housings and electrodes installed in the housings, which are rigidly fixed in the housings, and are installed with formation of discharge gaps inside housings. Electrodes open to outer surfaces of the housings. Electrodes and leads of electrodes of the housings are rigidly fixed in the housings, and electrodes of adjacent discharge chambers are connected by means of electrical conductors. Housings have outputs to space about the insulation body, and electrodes of extreme discharge chambers of the chain of three or more in-series connected discharge chambers are electrically connected to the reinforcement or to the electrical conductors facing to the surface of the insulation body.

EFFECT: reduction of spread in a value of discharge gaps between electrodes of discharge chambers at manufacture of the insulator.
