FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing sorbents used in environmental protection for localising collection and recycling oil and oil products from contaminated water and soil surfaces. A foamed finely dispersed aqueous emulsion contains 25-35 pts.wt of low-toxicity urea formaldehyde resin (KFMT-15). The emulsion is mixed in a special mixing chamber with a solution which is injected into the chamber, said solution containing 15-20 pts.vol of a 9-15% mineral acid (orthophosphoric acid) and 3.5-5.0 pts.vol of a surfactant (alkyl benzene sulphonic acid), heated to 45-55°C. The hardened mass is crushed and dried at 65-70°C and then treated with a suspension of oil-oxidising microflora prepared in amount of 108-109 cells/ml and potassium humate content of 0.01-0.1%.
EFFECT: obtaining a sorbent with high oil capacity, low content of formaldehyde and a long shelf life, contains oil-oxidising microflora and potassium humate, does not require removal from the application site and in one season is capable of reducing the oil contamination level to a level which does not require special cleaning processes for an initially high contamination level.
