FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: ethyl(4E)-5-chlorpent-4-enoate is used in synthesis of pheromones and other natural compounds important in practice. The results of the invention can be used in chemistry, fine organic synthesis and light chemical industry. In the method for producing, ethyl(4E)-5-chloropent-4-enoate based on decarbalkoxylation of diethyl[(2E)-3-chloropent-2-en-1-yl]propanedioate produced by allylation of (E)-1,3-dichloropropene malonic ester in the presence of LiCl and H2O; according to the invention diethyl[(2E)-3-chloropent-2-en-1-yl]propanedioate is decarbalkoxylated in the N-methylpyrrolidone medium in the microwave heating environment at 180°C for 30 min in the following molar ratio of [diethyl[(2E)-3-chloropent-2-en-1-yl]propanedioate]:[LiCl]:[H2O]:[N-methylpyrrolidone]=1:3:2:4.7.
EFFECT: higher compound yield and reduced time of reaction.
