FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to heavy load moving. Method for heavy load (L) moving consists in the fact that heavy load (L) is lifted and/or lowered using elevator containing cage and lifting mechanism made capable to move elevator cage from one level to another in normal mode of elevator operation. A load (L) is placed so that it is supported by elevator cage, and the mentioned cage is moved until the load (L) is at necessary height, whereupon it is brought out of position where it is supported by elevator cage. In the mentioned method, hoist (3) is temporarily attached to elevator cage to move heavy load (L) which hoist is not a part of the mentioned elevating mechanism, and the elevator cage is moved which cage supports a load (L) using the mentioned hoist (3) until the load (L) is at necessary height whereupon it is brought out of position where it is supported by elevator cage. Elevator implements above method of heavy load moving.
