FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: rope replacement method is applied in a lift containing at least a hoisting mechanism, a rope-leading pulley (4) and a counter-weight (6), with that, a lift cabin (1) is supported by lift ropes (2), and the lift includes compensation ropes (8). The method consists in the fact that the compensation ropes (8) are transformed to hoisting ropes of the lift and at least some part of the hoisting ropes (2) is transformed to the compensation ropes of the lift.
EFFECT: invention provides for the easier replacement of the ropes.
