FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: voltage balancer for a bank of electric energy storage units is related to the sphere of electric engineering and may be used for manufacturing of batteries with Li-ion accumulators and ionistors or chemical cells for transport and power industry needs. To the balancer for a bank of single energy storage units coupled as in-series electrical circuit that consists of a balancer for two adjoining storage units based on choke and diodes connected in parallel to storage units and electronic keys controlled through the balancer control unit there is an auxiliary current sensor and temperature sensor connected in series to the choke. The balancer is made as a driver with in-built MOSFET transistors. The balancer control unit for two adjoining storage units is made as a microcontroller related to the bank microcontroller through in-series communications channel with galvanic isolation, for example of CAN type.
EFFECT: prevention of potential saturation of the balancer accumulative choke, protection of the bank from overheating of elements and ensuring usage of both local and global algorithms for voltage balancing at the bank of accumulators.
