SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mass-spectrometry, specifically to sources of ions with ionisation at atmospheric pressure (photoionisation, chemical ionisation at atmospheric pressure in corona discharge and other), and can be widely used in mass spectrometry, ion mobility spectrometry when solving tasks of organic and bioorganic chemistry, immunology, medicine, diagnosis of diseases, biochemical examination, pharmaceutics, toxicology and ecology, performing analyses in criminal investigation and trace analysis of drugs and their metabolites. Method is based on formation of gas which transfers ions, a jet coaxially blowing ion formation region with swirling vortex jet to form a volume of spun flow with axial flow, and additional gas flow, forming a vortex sampling jet the form of a composite vortex, focusing ions on axis of a sampling flow in centre of vortex core. Method is characterised by equality of linear velocities of laminar flows: carrier gas from chromatographic column and external coaxial gas flow; wherein total volume of flow transferring ions slightly exceeds gas flow with transferred ions entering interface of mass spectrometer.
EFFECT: transfer of ion streams without discrimination of ions according to mass, reduction of ion density in moving flow, loss of chromatographic separation under normal conditions without heating external gas carrier, which considerably simplifies implementation of method in a wide range of volumetric flow rate of carrier gas, ion current of analysed substances chromatographic fraction is fed into analyser without impurities of laboratory air.
