FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the waveguide attenuators and can be used in the waveguide, antenna and UHF measuring equipment. The waveguide attenuator consists of a section of the rectangular wave guide and a volume absorbing resistance placed in it which consists of the main rectangular prism and coordinating elements designed as additional rectangular prisms. The main rectangular prism and the coordinating elements can be designed as a single detail, and the volume absorbing resistance is designed as the main rectangular prism, and the main prism at least from one of sides, parallel to the cross section of the rectangular wave guide, is conjugate to the coordinating element designed as an additional rectangular prism, structurally integrated with the main prism and made of material of the main prism, and the plane of the base of the additional prism coincides with the plane of interface of the main prism with the wave guide.
EFFECT: reduction of mass of the absorbing resistance during operation in low-frequency ranges and ensuring optimum coordination of attenuator input and output.
