FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology. Hydrogen sulphide is oxidised with oxygen or air with molar ratio oxygen: hydrogen sulphide equal 0.5-5.0, in reactor with fixed or fluidised bed of heterogeneous catalyst. Catalyst contains 0.5-10 wt % of complex compound with formula CaCl2·ZnCl2·4(C2H5)2O on active charcoal at temperature 130-200°C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase sulphur output.
