FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to processes of processing hydrogen sulphide-containing gases and can be used in recycling hydrogen sulphide by gas-phase oxidation. Process of catalytic oxidation of hydrogen sulphide is carried out in the reaction zone of the reactor of the installation with a fluidized catalyst bed at temperature of 250 °C with flow of heated gas-air mixture – purified hydrogen sulphide-containing gas and air supplied to reaction zone tubes filled with a catalyst for direct oxidation of hydrogen sulphide. wherein temperature is maintained by heat removal by fluidized bed of inert filler circulating in annular space of reaction zone. Linear velocity of gas-air mixture in tubes with catalyst is in range of 0.5–0.8 m/s. Further, the reaction products – vapours of elementary sulphur and water – and the components of the initial reaction gas mixture enter the condensation zone of the reactor with temperature reduction to 140 °C and sulphur condensation. Note here that temperature is maintained by heat removal by fluidized bed of inert filler circulating in annular space of condensation zone. Linear velocity of the gas agent entering the annular space of the reaction zone and the condensation zone is in range of 0.3–0.9 m/s. Invention also discloses an apparatus for catalytic oxidation of hydrogen sulphide.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to ensure continuous purification of hydrogen sulphide-containing gas streams with H2S content of 5–20 vol.% from hydrogen sulphide to obtain elementary sulphur.
