FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oxidation of sulfur-containing compounds. Described is a catalyst for selective oxidation of hydrogen sulfide to elemental sulfur, which contains iron compounds and an oxygen-containing phosphorus compound, silicates and/or aluminosilicates, magnesium compounds and titanium dioxide, and has the following composition in terms of oxides, wt.%: Fe2O3 — 15–45, P2O5 — 4–10, MgO — 1–5, silicates and/or aluminosilicates — 3–10, TiO2 — the rest.
EFFECT: providing sulfur output of 75–85 %.
