SUBSTANCE: in radio silence (prior to emission of short packages of radio pulses) a calculation device of a pulse-Doppler radio altimeter performs an analysis of interference level from the interference sensor output and when some threshold interference level is exceeded, it changes carrier frequency of a microwave generator so that interference level can become lower than the threshold one, which allows adapting operation of the radio altimeter to the changing interference situation, reducing probable detection of an aircraft as per emission of radio devices and obstructing target indication.
