FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radars and can be used in on-board navigation systems. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that during flight of an aircraft over a smooth water surface, the mutual correlation functions (MCF) of spatially separated signals reflected from the underlying surface (received by the wide-band antennas of the receiving antenna of the RAS system) by software switching to a multiple, higher carrier frequency without changing the geometry of the receiving antenna system.
EFFECT: increase in the stability and accuracy of the measurement of the components of the vector velocity of the aircraft over a smooth water surface.
