FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coating compositions for aerospace and aviation fuel tanks. The coating composition includes a) a sulphur-containing polyol with epoxy functional groups and b) an isocyanate curing agent, where the sulphur-containing polyol with epoxy functional groups includes a reaction product of reactants which include a polythioether with terminal thiol groups and epoxy resin, the polythioether with terminal thiol groups includes a polythioether with terminal thiol groups obtained by reacting divinyl ether or a mixture thereof with excess dithiol or a mixture thereof, where the dithiol has a structure of formula 2: HS-R1-SH, wherein R1 denotes -[(-CH2-)p-X-]q-(-CH2-)r _, wherein p is an integer from 2 to 6, q is an integer from 1 to 5 and r is an integer from 2 to 10; and the divinyl ether has a structure of formula 3 CH2=CH-O-[-R2-O-]m=CH2, wherein R2 denotes C2-6 n-alkylene and m equals 1-4, wherein the epoxy resin includes a compound of formula 5: where R is an aliphatic group, a cycloaliphatic group, an aromatic group or combinations thereof and R is represented by formula 6: where n is an integer from 1 to 10. The sulphur-containing polyol with epoxy functional groups includes a compound of formula 7: where Z includes a polythioether bond; R3 includes an alkyl group or an aromatic group or a combination thereof and includes at least two hydroxyl functional groups; m is an integer from 0 to 4 and each one of R1 and R2 is independently an alkyl group or an aromatic group or a combination thereof.
EFFECT: coatings based on said composition are flexible at low temperature, have good adhesion to a substrate and resistance to diethylene glycol monomethyl ether (DIEGME).
