FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of obtaining porous carbon materials. Method includes combined crushing of carbon-containing material with alkali or alkali metal carbonate and mixture carbonisation. Product with output of volatile substance from 14 to 25%, obtained by slow semi-coking of heavy oil wastes, is used as carbon-containing material. Before carbonisation mixture can be subjected to pressing.
EFFECT: obtaining carbon sorbent in monolith form and extension of sorbent functional abilities.
