SUBSTANCE: method of forming a compact metal element includes initiating an axially symmetrical main explosive charge, accelerating a metal lining of a cumulative recess under the action of explosion products of the main charge, making each metal insert in a shape similar to the shape of the metal lining, coating the insert on the side of the lining with a layer of an additional explosive charge, impact initiation by the accelerated metal lining of the adjacent additional explosive charge placed on the first metal insert in the direction of throwing. A compact element is formed as a result of the implosion of the metal insert. The explosive charge is provided with a cumulative recess with a metal lining with a metal insert placed coaxially in the recess.

EFFECT: wider mass and speed range of the formed compact element.
