SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rodent control and can be used in systems for physical protection of facilities. The method includes exposing rodents to an acoustic field with directed amplitude-modulated microwaves and optical coherent and non-coherent fields in the visible range. The apparatus for acoustic exposure of rodents comprises a microwave radiator, coherent and non-coherent field radiators in the visible range, a common amplitude modulator and a control unit. The control unit is connected to the control input of the amplitude modulator. Outputs of the amplitude modulator are connected to the control inputs of the radiators.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of non-lethal painful effect owing to the compound action of different physical fields.
