FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: dental arches are imprinted. Stone models are made. Regular dental occlusion is fixed. The produced models are plastered in an articulator. A pre-formed X-ray image of skull in a side projection is used to calculate a depth of the following preparation of the splinted teeth from the lingual side. The produced models are scanned and digitised by CAD/CAM systems. A prospective splint is bordered on the virtual model, and the following composite layer for reinforcement tape fixation is modelled. A composite thickness is calculated on the basis of the preparation depth, reinforcement tape thickness and manufacturer's recommendations. Computer-modelled dental arch is produced by computed milling or laser sintering. The produced model is used to design a transparent tray by thermal vacuum moulding. A bed of the X-ray detected thickness is formed in the oral cavity from the lingual surface of the splinted teeth to place the reinforcement tape therein. That is followed by applying the light-cured composite and fixed to the moulded tray so that the composite fills the respective groove in the tray pre-designed along the prospective borders of the splint. The composite is reflected until polymerised completely. The produced splint is ground and polished.
EFFECT: method enables producing the adhesive dental splint for immobilising movable teeth in periodontal diseases with a possibility to assess its abrasiveness and remodelling if required.
