FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: machined dental splint represents a one-piece polymethyl methacrylate part comprising a uniformly distributed nanosilver particles up to 0.2 wt %; it has a body up to 3 mm wide and up to 0.2mm thick mated with a contour of the patient's anatomical dental structures on their lingual surface; there are also provided retention elements coupled one-piece to a splint body and shaped as a footed hemispherical head, base edges of which are oval-shaped with a U-gap in between. The splint body is configured to mount on the lingual surface with its lower border passing at 1.5mm from a marginal gingival edge. The retention elements are configured to mount in dental gaps and their transition onto vestibular surfaces. The splint is made by machining a computer model produced by identifying an optical impression of a clinical setting in the patient's oral cavity.
EFFECT: invention enables providing an adhesive ability of the splint by providing the additional retention elements promoting high precision of fit depending on the clinical setting, and the antibacterial effect.
