FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: during realisation of the method a lengthy element from soft magnetic material is used. Depending on the position of the object relative to the element a magnetic field is set, which determines magnetic permeability (µ) of the element material, at the same time the working range is on the negative-going slope of the magnetic permeability slope. The element is connected with electronics that measures impedance of soft magnetic material, linearly depending on the object position relative to the element.

EFFECT: invention relates to instrumentation, represents a method and a device to record magnetic fields and may be used for determination of object positions.
