SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectral multi-point multi-parameter fibre-optic side illumination sensors which do not require sensitive cladding. The sensor comprises an optical fibre having a region where the cladding is removed as the probing region. A probing light source illuminates the fibre from the side. The sensitive optical fibre is optically exposed to medium of the measured value, which can fluoresce, phosphoresce, absorb and/or scatter the probing light. This probing light is guided by the fibre core towards a sensor which measures the light intensity and this light intensity is linked with the measured value.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities, high intensity of a double light signal, high accuracy of locating a detection region in a substance with high spatial resolution.
