FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: filler billets are made of two plates of the BT6 titanium alloy with the thickness of 1 mm with the longitudinal rolling shape. A bundle of plate billets is welded along the outline and as a row of continuous orthogonal welds. The assembled bundle is arranged between plates of casings and heated in the furnace up to the temperature of 800°C. Filler forming is performed by supplying to it of a pressurised gas. The rate of deformation ξ of the filler at forming is chosen based on the following: 5·10-4s-1<ξ<1·10-2s-1.
EFFECT: increasing strength characteristics of finished products due to increasing superplasticity and considerable reduction of a gas-saturated surface layer.
