METHOD OF MAKING PARTS FROM PSEUDO-α-TITANIUM ALLOY “OT4” Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC B23K20/14 B21D26/55

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used to improve process parameters and properties of parts from pseudo-α-titanium alloy “ОТ4”, produced by superplastic deformation. Method includes vacuum-arc melting of ingot from “ОТ4” alloy. Parts are made from the obtained ingot by superplastic deformation at temperature from 800 °C to 900 °C and deformation rate 10-4 s-1. Heat treatment is carried out at temperature of 750 °C to 850 °C, followed by holding at temperature of 400 °C to 500 °C to obtain a heterophase structure α- and β-phases with equilibrium state of solid particles. Then finished parts are subjected to plasma-electrolytic oxidation.

EFFECT: improved set of mechanical properties, particularly protection against contact corrosion of mating parts, microhardness and wear resistance, as well as increased strength characteristics at temperatures above 500 °C due to formation of titanium oxide coating TiO2 of two-phase type.
