FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrodes for electric discharge machining and can be used for broaching small-diameter holes in metals. Electrode tool end is fixed at moving post while opposite end is locked at fixed post. Tensile load is applied to both ends, its magnitude not exceeding electrode tool tensile strength. Electrode too is heated to annealing temperature. Electrode tool elongation point is registered. Then, electrode tool is quenched at fluid feed with decrease in tensile load proportional to electrode tool cooling rate.

EFFECT: higher linearity and rigidity.
