FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: manufacturing method of a composite glass-metal rod involves arrangement of a glass rod in a solid state in a metal shell. First, the surface of the glass rod is chemically cleaned, and the surface of the metal shell cavity is shaped by semi-finished grinding. Further heating of the described assembly is performed to softening temperature of glass rod material. Then, pressure is applied to the upper end face of the glass rod in the direction of the shell bottom by means of a metal piston. When transmitting the pressure to the end face of the glass rod, air is removed from the assembly. Exposure of the product at upper annealing temperature is set based on the following expression: t=150a2, min, where t - exposure time in minutes; a - semi-thickness of the thickest part of the product in centimetres. The product is cooled down to lower annealing temperature at the rate that is set based on the following expression: w=(0.33-1.3)/a2 deg/min.
EFFECT: improving strength and shock resistance of composite glass-metal material.
