FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to making tubes from glass-composite for chemical, oil and other industries. A heat-insulating plug is fit into the butt-end of an outer metal cladding without clearance, the diameter of said plug being equal to the outer diameter of the outer metal cladding, and then put into a split mould. The split mould is then put into a centrifuge. The centrifuge is then turned on and molten glass mass is poured into the inner cavity of the metal cladding and a glass layer is formed. Further, temperature of the glass layer is lowered to a value which ensures preservation of its dimensions when the centrifuge temporarily stops. The centrifuge is stopped and a heat-insulating plug, similar to the first, is fit into the free butt-end of the cylindrical cladding directly in the split mould and the centrifuge is turned on. The centrifuge is turned off when glass transition temperature is achieved in the glass layer and the glass layer is then annealed. Temperature of the cylindrical cladding is then lowered to ambient temperature and the cladding is then removed from the split mould.

EFFECT: making defect-free tubes from glass-metal composite in which there are no surface microcracks and in which there is uniform packing of the glass layer, which gives the tube high strength and impact resistance.
