FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the position determination device and method which allow to correct deformation and determine a position of a separator or an electrode with high accuracy and improvement of accuracy at the subsequent stages. The position determination device (200) comprises: a pressing module (240) which presses a sheet element (22) which is cut out from the sheet material (D) reeled in a roll and forms an accumulator element, to a flat base surface (215); and the position determination module (230) which determines the position of the sheet element (22) pressed to the base surface (215) by means of the pressing module (240). After that the sheet element (22) position which is determined by means of the position determination module (230), is used as information on a position of the sheet element (22) at the subsequent stage.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of sheet material position determination.
