FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of prolonging the term of preservation of cut flowers and plants and to solutions, applied for this purpose. The method is realised by obtaining an electrochemically processed solution and submerging the stem into the solution. The solution contains a potassium-based electrolyte, hypochlorous acid and dissolved oxygen. The solution has the pH value from 4 to 6 and electric conductivity of 0.2-6 mS/cm. The total content of dissolved solid substances constitutes not more than 2.5 g/dm3. The equivalent concentration of free active chlorine constitutes 25-120 mg/l.
EFFECT: prolongation of the storage term of cut flowers and plants for more than 15-20 days, protection of the stem against rotting, reduction of muddiness and formation of slime in the solution are provided.
