FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: trimming of the stems of fresh flowers is carried out by at least 10±5 mm from the initial cut. 10±2 seconds after the trimming the flowers are placed for 3±1 seconds in the first aqueous solution comprising 4±1% ammonium chloride and 1±0.5% citric acid. Then the flowers are placed in a second solution comprising 0.5%±0.1 ammonium chloride and 7±1% citric acid, and kept at a temperature of 1±0.2°C for 8-12 hours. Then the flowers are placed in a 0.35±0.05% aqueous solution of sugars at a temperature of 1±0.2°C for 20±4 hours. The sugars are used as glucose, or fructose, or their mixture. Then the flowers are placed in water and kept at a temperature of 1±0.2°C. Replacement with fresh water is carried out every 24 hours.
EFFECT: increase in the storage period of cut flowers.
