FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway engineering, in particular, to rail sleepers made of composite material, which is profiled to reduce limitation along centre. The rail sleeper comprises a block of rectangular shape from composite material. At the ends of the lower side of the sleeper there are flat surfaces. Between flat surfaces there is the middle part which has the first curve orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the sleeper. Radius of curve varies along the longitudinal axis of the sleeper, having its minimum in the centre of the sleeper. The second curve is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sleeper. The first curve and the second curve produce a saddle-type profile.
EFFECT: reduction of the problem of limitation along centre, prevention of sleeper cracking.
