FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used, for example, for control of metallic and gas inclusions in polymer cable insulation with the help of X-ray irradiation of electrical gas barrier discharge (EGBD). Metal electrode makes a conical reflecting element with preset cone angle and depth. X-ray EGBD radiation outlet opening is made at one end of cylindrical glass flask. Its opposite end has through hole for pipe to be fitted therein for feed of working gas to X-ray tube. Working gas represents argon or nitrogen with volatile activating addition to EGBD of 0.1 mg/cm3 of fine PbO2 powder.

EFFECT: higher contrast of said inclusions owing to soft X-ray radiation in the range of 1-10 nm to up the accuracy of their photo registration.
