FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: source comprises the discharge flask with gas medium formed by two cylindrical tubes from the material, transparent for working wavelength, the power supply with electrodes, the high-voltage electrode located in the internal tube of the flask, the grounded electrode, located on the surface of the external tube. Meanwhile the axis of the internal tube of the flask is displaced with reference to the axis of the external tube, forming a gas-discharge interval and buffer volume of the flask, while the flask is oriented with reference to vertical line at the angle 45° < φ < 75°, where φ is an angle between the gas-discharge interval and the vertical line passing through the centre of the external tube in the cross section of the flask.
EFFECT: increase of service life and power luminosity.
