FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate has a hard-alloy base with a wear-resistant coating and comprises an upper working surface and an opposing lower base surface, between which a peripheral side surface is located. At least one fixing plate through hole passes between the upper working and lower base surfaces. Each cutting edge has front and rear surfaces and successive sections of the main and auxiliary cutting edges with formation of angular cutting edges on the vertex of the cutting edges. The main side surfaces are inclined at different angles to the lower base surface and one relative to the other and have different width. In the cutting plate cross-section located in a plane passing through the axis of the fixing hole perpendicular to the section of the main cutting edge, the vertex of the fixing hole elevation is located below the portion of the main cutting edge. The ranges of cutting plate angles selection are provided.
EFFECT: increased mechanical strength of cutting wedge and optimal conditions of chip flow in the zone of the fixing holes.
