FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine, machine tool and instrument building and is designed for automatic control of linear dimensions of cylindrical and conical shape of products (spool-type valves, plungers, gears, spline and smooth rollers, drill tools, milling tools, counterboring tools, reamers, tapping tools, gauges, end measures of length, broach tools and other parts with minimum allowances of 2…4 mcm and any number of projections, starting from one, and with their minimum width of 0.05 mm) on grinding operations on round, flat, centreless, thread, spline and gear grinding mills and others in individual and small-batch productions. Essence of the proposed technical solution consists in use of a mechanically strong and optically transparent tip together with a tubular hollow measuring rod. Measurements of dimensions of test products are performed as per the current coordinate of the front surface of the tip, which contacts directly to the surface of the test product. This allows excluding many mechanical transfer members that are conventionally used in such devices. In some devices implementing the proposed method of measurements, influence of wear of the tip on the accuracy of measurements is minimised or even excluded. Besides, there is a possibility of measurement of thermal emission intensity, and by determining the tip temperature, correction for a temperature component of error can be made.

EFFECT: invention allows creating an optically closed measurement channel and using high-accuracy optic control methods of measurement of position of the test product surface on metal-working machines under extra heavy measurement conditions determined by a flow of non-transparent lubricating and cooling liquid, by its evaporations, flows of chips and hot sparks.
