SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BIOLOGICAL TISSUE IDENTIFICATION Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G01N1/22

Abstract RU 2558884 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to method, versions of system and device for analysis, localisation and/or identification of tissue types and can be applied in operating theatre, mainly as integrated part of one or more surgical instruments or dissecting instruments. Method of analysis, localisation and/or identification of one or several tissue samples includes sample, application of disintegrating device for obtaining gaseous particles of sample from section, without sample preparation, transport of gaseous tissue particles from section, ionisation of as minimum part of gaseous sample particles outside section for obtaining gaseous sample ions and application of analyser to obtain data, related to sample on the basis of, at least, gaseous sample ions. Disintegrating device realises, at least, one of the following: Joule heating, contact heating and ultrasonic treatment. System of analysis, localisation and/or identification of one or more samples of tissues includes biological sample, disintegrating device for obtaining gaseous particles from sample section without sample preparation, means for transportation of gaseous sample particles from section, ionisation device for ionisation of as minimum part of gaseous sample particles outside section for obtaining gaseous sample ions and analyser, connected in working conditions to transportation means. System for identification of one or several tissue samples in situ during surgical procedure includes: (a) surgical device, which has disintegrating device for obtaining gaseous particles from tissue section, (b) transportation tube for collection and transport of gaseous tissue particles from section to mass spectrometer, with said transportation tube being installed coaxially to surgical device, (c) means for creation of pressure gradient in transportation tube to facilitate transport of gaseous tissue particles from section to mass spectrometer, (d) device for ionisation of gaseous tissue particles with obtaining gaseous tissue ions, (e) mass spectrometer, connected in working conditions to transportation tube to obtain tissue-related mass-spectral data on the basis of gaseous tissue ions, and (f) feedback device, capable of presenting results of analysis or identification of such sample(s) to user of surgical device in the course of performing surgical procedure. One or more tissue samples are analysed or identified by comparison of tissue-related data with library of recordings of mass-spectra of known types of tissues. System for diagnosing in real time tissue of patient, subjected to surgical procedure in operating theatre, includes: (a) disintegrating device for obtaining gaseous particles from tissue section, (b) transportation means for transport of gaseous tissue particles from section to analyser, and (c) analyser, connected in working conditions to transportation means, with analyser being configured for obtaining data about tissue in real time on the basis of gaseous tissue particles, with said data about tissue being used for tissue diagnostics. Device for analysis of one or several tissue samples includes: (a) disintegrating device for obtaining gaseous tissue particles from tissue section, and (b) means for transportation of gaseous tissue particles from section to analyser, configured in such a way as to be capable of connecting to analyser in working conditions.

EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of direct in situ analysis of biological tissue, which does not harm analysed organisms and gives mass-spectral characteristics of different types of tissue for short time period.
