FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering. The application discloses information on multilayer current-conducting matrix (MCM) for current collector/electrode and method of its manufacturing. MCM includes a frame preferable with a tongue, at that the frame and body should be preferably made of the same substrate of polymer foam material. Specific area of the frame surface is higher than specific area if the body surface and it makes it more rigid and durable at connection of the frame and body in order to form the matrix. Electric conductive material is applied to the matrix in order to form a current collector. Binding material may be used alternatively. Electroactive paste is applied to the current collector. In result MCM-based electrodes become superlight and may be used as anodes or cathodes in lead, lithium-ionic or nickel-metal hydride batteries to improve their performance.

EFFECT: higher strength of the matrix.
