FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves an ultrasonic examination using a multi-frequency intracavitary rectovaginal transducer. That is preceded by the intravaginal insertion of a latex container filled with normal saline 150.0 ml. A defected fascia of rectovaginal septum is detected through an anterior wall of rectus within a thinning of the rectovaginal septum. A detected defect area is ultrasonically determined. If the found area is less than 8 cm2, a conservative treatment is performed. If the defected fascia area of the rectovaginal septum is 8-16 cm2, a transvaginal pelvic floor plasty added with an 11-o'clock transanal mucopexy. If the defected fascia area of the rectovaginal septum is more than 16 cm2, a surgical approach is supposed to use Prolift system, and a posterior mesh prosthesis is placed.

EFFECT: method enables preventing the recurrent pelvic prolapse, ensures reducing the intraoperative injuries and complications related to using synthetic materials by the accurate pre-measurement of the defected fascia of the rectovaginal septum and choosing an adequate surgical approach.
