FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical and radio engineering and communication and can be used in data transmission systems which employ multi-frequency orthogonal frequency-division multiplexed signals to estimate communication channel parameters. The disclosed method includes measuring the amplitude of the signal and noise mixture at used frequencies and the amplitude of noise at unused frequencies and using an analytical expression for the density of a random value, equal to the ratio of the measured values.
EFFECT: providing more accurate determination of parameters of a radio channel freezing model according to Rice law based on a multi-frequency information signal in case of presence of an automatic gain control unit at the receiving side; the present method also does not require a test signal.
