SUBSTANCE: invention relates to touch screen input devices which simulate a three-state input device. A method of providing a user interface for a mobile device is disclosed. The method includes a step of displaying a graphical user interface element on a touch screen; receiving a first touch on the touch screen at a location of the displayed graphical user interface element; in response to the received first touch, entering a first state which includes providing an audio prompt indicating an action that could have been valid if a function associated with the graphical user interface element had been performed.
EFFECT: more capabilities of use of a mobile device by people with a poor eyesight by providing means of detecting screen touching before contact with the touch screen.
