FIELD: gas-discharge emission sources used in various fields of science and technology, such as photochemistry and medicine.
SUBSTANCE: proposed emission source such as barrier-discharge lamp emitting at transitions of excimer and exciplex molecules has dielectric glass-shaped gas-filled bulb with output window transparent on operating wavelength, and power supply with electrodes; bulb is placed in shielding metal case; grounded perforated electrode is disposed on outer surface of output window; high-voltage electrode is mounted on inner surface of bulb bottom and connected to power supply disposed in same case at shortest distance; in addition, case accommodates cooling air charging device.
EFFECT: enhanced power density and safety; reduced weight.
