FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to electric engineering and may be used in networks with the compensation of capacitance fault-to-ground currents by means of an adjustable arc-suppression coil (ASC) coupled to a zero-sequence circuit (ZSC) of the network, for example, to a neutral of the feeding transformer. The method consists in controlling neutral offset voltage (NOV), generating an excitation pulse ZSC network, extracting a transient free component by overlapping NOV signals recorded before and upon the excitation pulse, determining own frequency of ZSC network against the extracted free component, and in case of a mismatch with the frequency of the network voltage forming a control response to the change in ASC inductivity, at that, before overlapping, the signal recorded before the action of the excitation signal is delayed per an integer number of frequency half-periods of the network frequency.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of setting for the compensation of capacitance fault-to-ground currents.
