FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: arthroscope is inserted through a lateral port. Bone canals are created under the control of the arthroscope: in the superior, medium and inferior one-thirds of a medial border of the patella. Three fixation anchors with mounted ligatures are inserted into the bone canals under the control of the arthroscope. One end of each ligature of each fixation anchor is brought out along the line going with the medial border of the patella; the second end of each ligature is brought out through punctures in the borders of the disrupted ligament along the line parallel with the line of the medial border of the patella and inwards; both ends of each ligature are brought subcutaneously and knotted so as to enable bringing the borders of the disrupted patellar ligament together and reducing the patellar fragment within the avulsion fracture to provide tight contact and compression.
EFFECT: method enables reducing the risk of postoperative patellar instability.
