FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method for protective coatings obtaining on items with carbon-containing base includes formation on the item surface of slurry coating based on composition comprising mixture of nanodispersion and ultradispersion powders of high-melt elements and/or compounds, at least one of which is chemically active to silicon and creates in interaction with it silicone carbide and/or high-melt silicides, and/or ternary compounds, and temporary binding substance. The reaction sintering of the slurry coating in vacuum in silicon vapours by means of impregnation by its condensate vapours within temperature range 1300-1450°C at temperature of silicium vapours exceeding item temperature by 10-50 degrees, with further heating to temperature of reactions completion of the said compounds creation, at that at lower temperature and lower temperature difference the impregnation of smaller pores of the slurry coating is ensured.

EFFECT: increased heat resistance, strength and viscosity of destruction, as well as coatings resistance to temperature shock.
