SUBSTANCE: method includes forming a first and a second measurement channel, comprising generator-receiver pairs of electroacoustic converters and displaced in space on the axis of movement, wherein the centres of the acoustic axes of all converters lie on the same line in a row such that the displacement between the centres of receivers is equal to the displacement between the centres of generators; receiving a differential signal from the outputs of said channels and comparing the strength of said signal with a rejected level, and determining the presence of a defect from the decrease in the strength of the differential signal.
EFFECT: high reliability of ultrasonic inspection.
