The substance of the invention lies in the fact that the flaw detector's search head is placed between the wheels of the tracking chassis on the vertical axis of its kinematic connection with the actuator, the scanning path is set, the flaw detector's search head is in working contact with the body of the inspection object, with the help of an actuator, the support wheels of the chassis are rolled along the surface of the inspection object, following the scanning trajectory and conducting non-destructive testing of this object, while by means of these wheels the gap between the head and the inspection object is kept constant on the scanning trajectory, and when the head is located in close proximity to the edge of the object inspection or directly on its edge, the chassis with hanging one of the wheels of the chassis is turned over the edge of the inspection object, relying on one wheel and the actuator.

EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of reliable control in the edge zones of the inspection object.
