FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: ceramic container makes the primary assembly of claimed furnace. Said container is produced from heat-and-melt-resistant glass refractory material at temperature approximating to 1450°C. It is shaped to hollow truncated pyramid divided by ceramic shield into two zones: top melting zone and bottom melt thermal preparation zone. Heating of every zone is executed by means of electric heaters arranged nearby outer surfaces of both zones. Glass melt is fed through ceramic shield grid openings into thermal preparation zone and, further, into multi-stream feeder assembly abutting directly on ceramic container bottom chamber. Optimum ratio of ceramic shield grid opening area and total area of bushing cylindrical part cross-sections makes 1.0-3.5 at top-to-bottom chamber volume ratio making at least 1:1 and at height of ceramic vessel of 200-350 mm.
EFFECT: stable forming of fibres, lower costs and loss of precious metals.
